I'm gonna keep this short.
I want to live here. And I should have taken more pictures. I was too busy loving it.

I've been wanting to do another styled shoot, so I reached out to a high school friend and asked if I could do one with her two beautiful girls.
I chose their outfits, hairstyles, and location. I chose Allegany State Park because it's close, and because there are so many options for places to shoot within the park. Trees, cabins, fields, the beach, and a lake! It also helped that we shot on a beautiful day during golden hour. We had so much fun on this shoot. I brought bubbles, and asked them to dance and be silly - to be kids. I also tried my hardest to make them laugh in some of these shots, which usually yields to some pretty cute pictures. They are both so so sweet, and so photogenic. I love doing shoots like this - and I'm super happy with how the shots turned out. Hopefully I can photograph them again in the future! xoxo This morning we got up early to take the dogs to the lake.
The morning didn't start off to well. As we approaching the beach, there was a family of geese. As we approached, they got into the lake and started to swim away. So, we thought it was okay to unleash the girls. We thought wrong. Zoey bolted into the water after the geese. She then proceeded to get confused by the rope and buoys so Adam started to go in the water to get her. Before he got to her, she became less confused and started swimming toward the beach. After that debacle, the morning was fun. Zoey fetched a lot of sticks in the water (her favorite thing ever - other than eating). And Lex even got in the water - which is NOT typical Lex behavior. We have a lot of pictures of the girls, but I need to take more. We'll be thankful for these. <3 In December, I went to visit one of my besties - Melissa, who just moved to Florida (from Rochester) with her hubby and mom.
We had insanely gorgeous weather, and did lots of awesome stuff. We got up super early so we could watch the sunrise, walked around downtown Melbourne and Cocoa Beach, went to a rad brewery, took 100 pictures of a random fisherman, and met some doggies digging sand on the beach. I also saw a ginormous pelican purging up something that almost made me hurl all over a dock...so that was fun. I was able to take pictures for me, which I don't do a lot these days. That may have been my favorite part. Below are just a few of my favorites from my trip; I can't wait to go back. As long as Melissa promises to take me to "Squid Lips" next time. ;) I love taking pictures for myself. Here are a few I took outside of where I'm currently living. So much beauty.
This past weekend, Adam's brother Blake came to visit. They golfed. A lot. So on Saturday, I decided to ride along for a few holes to get some pics.
I feel like I rarely have time to take pictures for fun, so this was a nice lil' afternoon. The guys didn't mind. I just had to promise not to click the shutter on their backswings. :) In late June, I had the pleasure of photographing Christina & Alex's wedding in Rochester. It was one of the hottest days of the year, but we all pushed through.
Christina and Alex got married at a beautiful church in Greece, NY, and then we headed to Rochester's Memorial Art Gallery for their formal pictures. Luckily, they (and their bridal party) were champs and stuck out the heat for pictures. The reception was located at the Burgundy Basin in Rochester, where we did family pictures outside and then had a SUPER fun reception indoors. I gotta say, it was hard for me not to dance along to the music they were playing. This couple is so sweet, and they're so in love. You could feel it all day. They were surrounded by so many people that loved them, and the day was amazing. Thank you Christina & Alex for letting me capture your special day! xoxo Last week, I drove to Williamson to do yet another session with these two cuties. They are definitely two of my faves, and it helps that live near acres of orchards. As usual, the girls did so great. I did have to bust out my little stuffed bunny as a distraction, but that actually made for some pretty cute candids.
I think the girls recognize me now, so hopefully their shoots in the future will continue to go as well as this one did. Dancing, smiles, laughs, nature, and a lot of sun. Last week, Adam and I went to Punta Cana for our honeymoon. Yes, I realize that we're not married yet. It was a pre-wedding honeymoon, since we didn't want to attempt the Caribbean in June.
We stayed at the Catalonia Royal Bavaro resort, and dios mio - it was beautiful. We stayed in a private suite - where we had our own pool. I didn't hate it. ;) The restaurants were great, the people were great, the beach was close, and everything was so clean. There were ducks, flamingos, lots of lizards, and even a huge spider that Adam found in our room the morning we were packing. (Thank heavens he found that spider on the last day). At one point, I even made Adam get into the fountain pool to save a drowning mouse, which he did. <3 I obviously brought my camera, and went out several times to get pictures of this gorgeous resort. And luckily for me, Adam is very used to having a camera in his face by now, because I make him model for me all the time. Enough rambling - please check out the pictures :) A few months ago, my good friend Jessie and I attended a workshop with Cassidy of Thompson Photography at their venue - Stonewall Estates in Delhi, NY.
We spent a few hours learning about Cassidy and her success, chatting about technique, and checking out her gorgeous venue. Then, Cassidy set up a styled shoot for all of us to participate it. Everything was styled amazingly. Florals were done by Orange Blossom Florals, the hand-lettering was done by Gia Sabatini Designs, and catering by Elena's Catering. Our models are married in real life, and they both did such an amazing job. They had a great connection. I really love how these pictures turned out. Thank you so much to Cassidy for letting Jessie and I partake in this workshop. And for convincing me to get the Canon 5D Mark IV ;). |
