So let me just start by saying...these are two of my most FAVORITE people on earth.
I went to high school with George and have been really good friends with him for... a long time. (Oh man, I'm old). :) I met Jessie for the first time when our other friend from high school got married in North Carolina in 2011 and George brought her. My connection with her was instant. Jessie is one of those girls that is just so easy to be around. She's funny, she's cool, she's laid back, she's up for anything. As the years have passed, we've become super good friends. She's also a photographer, so we have that in common, among other things. In August, a bunch of us rented a beach house in Oak Island, NC. Jessie was kind enough to take engagement pictures of Adam and I, and I took some pictures of George and Jessie. We obvi had so much fun; I love how their pictures turned out. It's so evident how in love they are. <3

In August, 4 couples (and Adam and I) rented a big beach house in Oak Island, NC. Sarah and Ray (and their girls) were one of the families. I've been friends with Sarah since high school; she's one of my bestest friends, one of my bridesmaids in my upcoming wedding, and she has one of the most amazing families ever.
Her hubby Ray is such a great guy. One of the best dads ever to two of the cutest little girls ever. I was so happy to be able to do a photoshoot for them on the beach one of the nights we were there. We waited until the sun started to set, giving us gorgeous light. Plus, there wasn't a lot of other people on the beach. BONUS. I love how these pictures turned out so much. <3 Makes me want to go back to August right now :) Love you, Turner fam!!! xoxo A few weekends ago, my mom and I went to Arizona. Neither of us had ever been there before, so we thought we'd stay in a few places. I'm so glad we did.
We flew into Phoenix, rented a car, and headed right for Sedona. I've heard so so many good things about Sedona so we wanted to get there super fast. Let's just say... we were not let down. The drive in was so beautiful. Huge, red rocks, winding desert roads, and one of the cutest little towns I've ever seen. It was so calming and so breathtaking at the same time. I want go back right now. We got the hotel, then left for a hike. I knew I wanted to get as many pictures as I could because the light...........man oh man. I was in heaven. The tones were so different, so gorgeous. I almost asked a few strangers if I could take their pictures because I wanted to do some portraits. However, I also didn't want to be the creepy tourist from New York, so I took a few pictures of my adorable mom instead. :) The following morning, we got up early so that we could make it back to Phoenix and watch the Bills playoff game in a Bills bar. I was able to witness and get some shots of the sunset. It was so amazing....the sky was gorgeous shades of blue...behind the silhouette of the huge rocks. After the game, we headed 2 hours south to Tucson, where we spent the next two nights. Tucson is also such a beautiful city, surrounded by mountains. And more of that gorgeous light. Can't wait to go back <3 Christmas was amazing this year. Peaceful and fun. Colton and Adrian had such a great Christmas and now that Shawn is 2, it was so cool to watch him experience it this year.
We had lots of beautiful snow, ate lots of good food, had lots of delicious wine, and were even able to ski. Granted, it was freaking freezing, but we went really early, and I can't even put into words how serene and beautiful it was on the top of the mountain with so few skiiers there. Plus, Zoey and Lex (our doggies), LOVE being at their Gramma's house, so they had fun, too. I hope you all had an equally fantastic holiday. <3 A few months ago, I went to a photography workshop in Delhi, NY with my friend Jessie (check out her site - she's crazy talented). Luckily for me, my uncle and aunt live super close to Delhi, so we stayed the night at their house after the workshop had ended.
I have been to their house plenty of times, but I am always excited to visit. Not only are they two of the coolest people I know, but they also have a little farm - Lord & Lady Farm. They have pigs, goats, ducks, chickens, and dogs. I LOVE seeing the animals when I visit them. My uncle and aunt are both amazing people; they give their animals such an amazing life. Thank you for letting us stay with you, Jeff & Jen - and thank you for being animal lovers. We need more people like you in this world. <3 <3 One of my favorite couples EVER. I know George and Cassidy from one of my good friends - and I took their engagement pictures a while ago. We had so much fun at that session, and when they had their dog in some of the photos, I knew this couple was amazing. So, when they asked me to do their wedding - I was sooooo excited.
Their wedding was in late October - at the Burgundy Basin in Rochester, NY. We could NOT have had better weather, and everyone was so fun. I knew Cassidy would be breathtaking - but she exceeded my expectation. She looked so classic; so gorgeous. And George was so handsome. Their wedding colors were so pretty - all in all, I was STOKED at how these pictures would turn out. The ceremony was one of my favorite part of the days. George and Cassidy emoted pure excitement and love throughout the entire thing - especially when they were pronounced man and wife. (See images below). Everyone had so much at the reception. I love a reception with awesome music and a lot of guests who want to dance. What an amazing wedding to end my season with - thank you George and Cassidy for choosing me to shoot your wedding, and for being so awesome. xoxo Last month, I had the pleasure of shooting Tim & Hiliary's wedding at Cardinal Hills Golf Course in Randolph, NY.
Hiliary is actually my second cousin...so it was extra special to be able to capture her day. I had met Tim a few months prior to the wedding, and based on how they interacted with each other, I could tell their wedding day would be fun, beautiful, and full of love. And I wasn't let down. We had the most gorgeous day, and everything went extremely smoothly. (My kind of wedding). Hiliary even got behind the buffet and served food to her guests for a few minutes. (See picture below). :) Tim made sure to come outside and let me know so I could document his bride serving food in her gorgeous wedding dress. Now that's love. Thank you to Hiliary and Tim for letting me capture your perfect day. I hope I did it justice and documented it for you in a way that will always make you smile. <3 The LaManna's - one of my favorite families to photograph. I've had quite a few sessions with the them and it's always so fun, and so great to see their girls get older. They're two of the sweetest girls I know, and never fail to be super cooperative, and really cute. Their parents are pretty cute, too. :)
This time, I had them follow me to Williamson, NY - a little past Ontario, near the lake. We shot at some orchards, which make an amazing background. I knew the drive would be worth it, so thank you LaManna's for trusting me! As always, I love how these images turned out - so I hope they keep asking me to take their pictures each year! xoxo This past August, I had the pleasure of shooting Cassie & Kyle's wedding. Their ceremony was at Science Lake in Allegany State Park, and their reception was in Great Valley, NY. We couldn't have had a more perfect day, for a perfect couple.
These two are so fun, so compatible, and so perfect for each other. I love shooting weddings when the couples are so obviously in love - it gives the images so much more feeling and emotion. Cassie is the niece of my sister-in-law, so it was an especially great day because I've known Cassie for a long time, and because all three of my nephews were there most of the time. And in case you didn't know, I'm kiiiiind of obsessed with my nephews, but totally in a healthy way. :) Cassie and her mom made a gorgeous arbor for the ceremony, which was right on a little lake surrounded by beautiful trees (which also happened to give off some beautiful shade :)). The ceremony was intimate and beautiful. Their bridal party was also so fun - and badass, might I add. In case you don't believe me, scroll down to see one of Cassie's bridesmaids grab a snake off the ground and pose with it for a picture. They also did an amazing job decorating the fire hall for their reception. With homemade wooden centerpieces, and a cupcake stand, it was a beautiful and rustic party. There was A LOT of dancing and laughs - and who doesn't love a lot of dancing and laughs? I had such a great time capturing Cassie & Kyle's wedding - I know they had such an amazing day and I hope their pictures take them back to that day each time they look at them. In July, I shot Jennifer & Brian's wedding at Firelight Camps in Ithaca, NY. Jennifer had reached out to me last year about shooting their wedding - and boy, am I glad she did.
I shot their engagement pictures in Buffalo a few months before, which gave me the perfect opportunity to meet these two and work with them prior to their wedding. These two are amazing. So funny, so nice, and so in love. I knew their wedding would be perfect. First, this venue <3. Although I had never been to Firelight Camps, I love Ithaca so I figured it would be gorgeous. It is rustic, beautiful, and was decorated so beautifully. It was honestly a perfect fit for Jen and Brian. Their day was just as I expected - fun, romantic, and beautiful. They are such a perfect match for each other, and their family and friends were equally as amazing. And can I just say - this wedding may have had the best maid of honor and best man speeches I've ever heard. :) I am so in love with their pictures - I hope that I was able to capture their day in images as amazing as it was in person. Thank you Jen and Brian for choosing me to shoot your special day. <3 |
